Volunteers' Week - Volunteering Opportunities

Volunteering involves such a wide range of different roles and I don't think many people are aware of this. I thought I would share with you the different ways you can volunteer in more detail. I am going to talk about CLIC Sargent charity as I am very familiar with the different roles they have for volunteers. I have shared links to the pages in the title of the headers if you are interested and need more information.

Volunteering in offices
There are many intern roles available in CLIC Sargent's offices, such as marketing interns, fundraising interns and research interns. There are also roles where you can help volunteer in research, this can help develop new fundraising partnerships and raise funds.

Volunteering in shops
There are many roles available in CLIC Sargent shops:
On the shop floor -  Dealing with customers, making sure the shop is well presented and cashing in purchases.
Behind the scenes - Sorting through donated stock, preparing and pricing items properly.
Out and about - Helping promote CLIC Sargent in a local community. This could be by putting up posters or placing collection boxes in the area.

Volunteering in fundraising
Volunteering is available in every aspect of fundraising. It could be helping or marketing for a fundraising event. There are endless amounts of fun opportunities in fundraising.

Volunteering in photography
CLIC Sargent are often looking for volunteers to take photos at local events.

Volunteering in services
Opportunities in services include supporting the homes from home services, this could be helping decorate or paint the houses or volunteering along side staff supporting children and young people.

Young volunteers
This is one of the volunteering roles I am involved with and is for young people living with or after cancer to help shape CLIC Sargent's work and services. It is a great way to meet other patients and share our views about a cancer diagnosis and the support we receive.
