MEET SUSHI

Meet Sushi, our 10 week old kitten...how cute is she?
I say cute but sometimes she acts like a complete little shit, she is just very playful because of her age. We have just started to spray her with a little bit of water when she is naughty, by naughty I mean climbing the curtains, scratching and ripping cushions/furniture.
Still love her though!
Does anyone have any other tips for training a kitten?

RELAY FOR LIFE

A few months ago, another fundraiser and one of my best friends, Pete asked me if I was interested in a local event called the Relay for life. I heard of the event before and knew it was a sponsored 24 hour relay to raise money and awareness of cancer research UK. He asked me to sign up as a survivor which meant I would have to take part in two laps of the relay.
After hearing how interesting and fun the event sounded, I signed on to a team so I was able to take part in the full 24 relay instead of just the survivors lap.
The relay lasted a whole 24 hours and the aim of the event is to have at least one team member on your team on the track at one time.
Throughout the day there was live music, bands and family games.
Overall there was around 25 teams and we managed to raise an amazing total over £10,000. Each hour set of laps were themed which made the relay a lot more exciting. I took part in the 3am glow in the dark theme walk which was fun and my highlight was the silent disco throughout the night..it definitely kept us awake and motivated.

A LITTLE BREAK

I am back in my little spoon full of sugar world of writing and updating you all on my super busy few months. A little break from writing my blog has been blissful. I have had such a hectic few months and have so much I want to share with you and just let my fingers type away while empty my little cloud of thoughts in my head.
Has anyone else taken a break from blogging before and then returned?

FIRST DAY AT SCHOOL

Oh my goodness I can't believe this day has come around so quickly. I have  mixed emotions, I feel happy that she's grown up and starting a very important chapter in her life but I also feel sad that shes growing up and she's not my little baby niece who I can cuddle all the time and who I see on a weekly basis. I dropped her off to class on her first day singing the 'first day at school' song from finding nemo. She was so excited yet very nervous.
How bloody cute does she look!

MY LIFE IN PHOTOS JULY

The Summer months are starting and we have been spending a lot of our time at the beach. Being at the beach is my favourite. I don't know what it is about the beach but I love going to the beach, weather it is raining, windy or sunny, I could sit on the beach all day long.
MTV Crashes was another great event, I have been for the past three years and every year, it is just as fun. This time, the weather wasn't so good but to watch Rudimental preform on Plymouth Hoe was quite the experience.
This post wouldn't be complete without a montage of my photography taking hobby.
Me and two of my best girls enjoyed a few drinks and a dance on the dance floor.

THE FOREST FAIRY

At Stover Park one cloudy day, The Forest fairy came out to play.
Her hair so golden, her smile so bright
Her heart filled with love glowed like a light.
Dancing, flying and jumping high
Waving her pink, star wand at passers by.

'Are forest fairies real?' they asked with joy
'Yes of course we are' she replied, 'I'm not a toy'
She fed the ducks and left a trail
The view so breathtaking, like a fairytale.

Forest fairy sat with baby Theo on her throne
Whilst she imagined that pets were a pine cone.
A wave of her wand to release fairy dust
A visit in the forest is always a must.
She pointed her wand up to the sky
Making a special wish, that she could fly.

She wished she could fly to the top of the trees
High in the sky with the birds and the bees.

As the forest sleeps and the bird sings
Forest fairy fluttered away with her magical, sparkly fairy wings.

MY MONTH IN PHOTOS | JUNE

It's only 6 months until Chistmas! Yayyy I can't wait! Seriously we are already half way through the year complete bloody craziness if you ask me!

The beginning of June was the launch of volunteers week and I was asked by the NCVO to do a short talk about why I volunteer. The launch breakfast was in the BT Tower in London and I had to talk in front of my biggest audience yet of around 80 people. The view from the tower was amazing and it was a great opportunity to meet other volunteers and network with different charities.
On June 3rd we celebrated little Esme's 4th Birthday. I can't believe how grown up she is and am so proud of the little girl she is growing up to be. Her birthday party was an Ariel themed party and my mum helped with the decorating, she's such a creative woman when it comes to decorating.
You know what i'm like..constantly taking photos of the little ones so I had to include this little montage of photos. I'm so lucky to have these 3 beautiful little people in my life.
A family walk in the beautiful park on a Sunny afternoon. I think that being couped up in a hospital room for so long has made me want to spend as much of my time as possible outside exploring and finding some hidden, beautiful spots in Plymouth to enjoy a walk, especially when the sun in shining.
Nights out are really rare for me nowadays but this month I went out and celebrated with my extended family, my bestie Kate and her Sisters and bumped into one of my nurses who looked after me (far left) We indulged in lots of prosecco and I suffered the consequences the following morning with a very bad headache.
Me and Mum had one of the nicest afternoons last week when we went on a Mother, Daughter date day. First, we went to the cinema to watch Me Before You..and both cried A LOT! It is a brilliant film, Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen from Game Of Thrones) plays such an amazing role. I read the book before watching the film, and like all films, a lot of the detail from the book is missed out but it's definitely worth the watch. We ended our date by going to Nando's and stuffing our faces, I do love a Nando's. My nan on the other hand detests it and says 'it's just expensive chicken and chips' haha.
It was my Bestie, Kate's 23rd Birthday on 30th June and I created this little collage of photos taken over these past 11 years. As a best friend we have been through lots together and I wouldn't be where I am today without her! A great friendship is very rare to find and I have realised by being poorly who my truest of friend are, Kate is by far the best. I love her lots!

Happy 4th of July everyone! I hope you've had a great month!

RADIO 1'S BIG WEEKEND

Now that I have a laptop to use and have a little bit of time to write and update you all on what little adventures I have been on, I thought why not start with some photos the RADIO 1'S BIG WEEKEND. It was brilliant and I was so so lucky to have been able to go as my Bestie, Kate managed to get a pair of tickets. Chuffed!
We seen some brilliant live acts including Meghan Traynor, Fetty Wap and my favourite band, Mumford and Sons.

A LITTLE UPDATE

Holla,
Apologies for not being really active on my blog recently. I have been so busy with events, meetings and just general life. I feel that my life has been on super fast mode for the past month and haven't had time to sit and relax at all. Another major issue is bloody technology, my laptop decided to die on me a few months ago and I haven't managed to get it fixed properly yet, I am using my Auntie's laptop temporarily but it's a little slow and needs an update so I find it difficult writing on there.
I am staying with Kate at her sister's house for a few days and am taking full advantage of using their mac and writing up some posts i've been meaning to write for a while.
The crazy life of Leesh, I have been up to a lot this month and have spent a lot of my time in London.  I went to attend a meeting with the Young Person's Advisory Group where we discussed the charities future - I am going to write a separate blog post about this as it covered something important that I want to share with you in more detail.
I was also on another interview panel where I interviewed the new trustee of CLIC Sargent, I always find these very important as I feel not only is the experience good for me, being on the other side of the panel but also I feel that young people should and always do have a say within the charity and it's decision making. Some of you may think..'here she goes again..CLIC Sargent bla bla bla' but I honestly feel extremely passionate about the charity and it is something I will be involved with for the rest of my life. I truly believe that you aren't aware of how important charities are until you, a family member or friend needs and uses their services.
I think that's all the little bits I wanted to say, mostly I just wanted to say sorry for not being as active on here as I usually am. As you all know this blog is my little world of getting away and letting my mind wonder!

MY MONTH IN PHOTOS | MAY

So we are already half way through the year and I am still baffled about how time can flash by yet how long ago the beginning of may seems. I have written a lot of separate posts this month that feature in these collages so feel free to read my last few blog posts if you want to read more.
It was my Dad's birthday and we celebrated by having a nice family meal and my Dad finished the day watching football and drinking a beer..perfect..for him!
My Auntie Kirsty and her partner, Dave got married this month and she had a wedding that was one of a kind, a festival wedding! It was bloody amazing!
I have spent a lot of time with my little munchkins this month so obviously had to share some adorable, cute photo's of them. All 3 of them are growing too fast.
My Wig Wednesday event was such a big success I couldn't not feature it in my month in photos. We spent other day selling tea, cakes and raffle tickets and raised an amazing total of £1,015. How brilliant it that! 'Proud Moment!'
Me and my best chum went to the Radio 1's Big Weekend in Exeter, Powderham Castle. I was very lucky to go as me and the girls all tried to get tickets and only Kate managed to get 2, only for the first day but it was brilliant! I had one of the best nights!
I have been travelling a lot this year! I was asked by NCVO to attend the volunteers week launch breakfast in London. I was asked to do a talk about why I volunteer in front of 90 people. The breakfast was at the top of the BT Tower in London, 190m high and has the fastest lift in Europe.
Look at the beautiful view!
I hope you have all had a brilliant month! Sorry I have been a bit absent from writing, I have been a busy bee and finding the time to sit, relax with a cuppa is rare these past few weeks.
